It has been a while since I last posted on the site. Reason for this has been a change in focus and direction for the time being. I have moved out of a predominantly Personal Trainer focus to that of working as a sales consultant at the largest cycle store in the S hemisphere, Cycle Lab. The move has been good for me as I was not really enjoying the hours and non commitment of clients with their no shows or last minute cancellations. As they say all change is as good as a holiday, yet holidays also come with their challenges and adversity.

This got me thinking about this…

Adversity as I shall define this has it’s many ways of presenting itself.

What I find most challenging and interesting is how we address, process and move on from this. I have often found the best is to acknowledge this, trying to keep objective and take away the personal emotion out of it and the I am a victim trap we so easily subscribe to.

In a nutshell looking for the positive in it all… We can deal with this in one of many ways:

  1. Is this about me?
  2. Is this about them?
  3. Can I change this to make a better working solution to this challenge I am facing?
  4. Is it okay if I turn my back on this and move on?

I think the important thing is focusing on your centre of influence and where you can or cannot make a difference in your world and not the world of others at the expense of your self and self worth.
